TV: New Parks and Recreation pic, promo & website

More Parks and Recreation stuff:

An official NBC shot of Ann Perkins to go with the group shots posted earlier

Image via Parks and Recreation Fans Blog (another cool site!)
-----------------------------------------------

This new promo called "The Front Lines" has some footage of Rashida in it. You get a glimpse of Ann at a construction site and public forum but she doesn't have any dialogue. Oh well. This clip is funny and Amy rules. (For more Amy, an "Inspiration" promo is here on NBC)

"It's pretty cool, whatever, I don't know, I don't care, but it's an honor"

Trivia: IRL Mr "I hate the public", aka Nick Offerman, is Mr Megan Mullaly, aka Karen from Will & Grace
-----------------------------------------------

An NBC-created city of Pawnee, Indiana website has gone live and it's definitely worth checking out. The About Pawnee page is a crack up and you can e-mail "whatever's on your mind" to Leslie Knope herself.

Premiere date: April 9 at 8:30pm ET. Can't wait!

TV: R.J. talks 'Parks and Recreation'

Yesterday Rashida did some roundtable interviews at the New York press junket for I Love You, Man. Collider.com was one of the participants and took the opportunity to ask about Parks and Recreation.

Rashida Jones talks PARKS AND RECREATION – New NBC Show from Maker’s of The Office
3/8/2009 Posted by Frost

Question: Speaking of fun, can you talk about your upcoming project with Amy Poehler?
Rashida Jones: Now that is fun, yeah. It's called 'Parks and Recreation' and it comes on April 9th on NBC and it is a comedy about local government and the challenges you face when trying to actually execute any kind of project on a city level.

It was amazing how mysterious they kept what the show was going to be about.
Jones: I know. That was insane.

People were wondering if it was going to be an 'Office' spin-off. Was it always mysterious to you as well?
Jones: Completely, honestly. I was kind of hold for it not knowing anything about it, not being told anything about it and not knowing if I was even going to get to do it and I actually found out as everyone else found out. It was like, 'Is it really a spin-off?' I had to call people and get confirmation, but I do understand their need to keep it under wraps because they don't want people's expectations to be anything that they're not or should be for the show.

And is it a spin-off?
Jones: No. It is not a spin-off.

So it's a clearly a separate universe?
Jones: It is a separate universe. It takes place in Indiana.

Is it the same kind of mockumentary shooting style, following the characters around?
Jones: Yes. Similar style, but the difference is that you kind of don't know why the crew is following 'The Office' and you can kind of tell a little more on this one because there's sort of like or it feels like two crews. One is following me who's like the concerned citizen with the complaint and then the other crew is following Amy Poehler's character who's like the city official, looking inside on city government. They kind of converge as we converge as friends.

You work on the show with Aziz Ansari who is brilliant.
Jones: Yes, totally brilliant. I love him.

Did you know his work before getting on the show and what's it been like working with him?
Jones: I did, I did. I'm a big fan of 'Human Giant' and he had a little part on 'I Love You, Man' which is how we first met. He's so cool. I mean, I feel like he is young comedy. He's like the embodiment of young comedy. He's hilarious and he kind of knows everything and does all his promotion online. He's twenty six. He is a wonderful improviser and at this stage where we're still trying to figure out who our characters are it's such a good thing for someone to have such a strong point of view. His character is kind of a sleeze ball and he's just constantly hitting on girls. There's something about Aziz where you don't feel threatened by him, but you're still grossed out by his advances. So he's pretty great [laughs].

TV: Parks and Recreation now filming

Amy Poehler's New Show Starts Today
Today 11:48 AM PST by Kristin Dos Santos

This just in from our spies over at Sunset Gower Studios in Hollywood: Amy Poehler's new NBC comedy, Parks and Recreation, has officially started filming today!

Why is this such good news?

Because the script rocks (yes, we've read it), and P&R (not to be confused with Y&R) looks to be the next NBC comedy that's made of 100 percent awesome, thanks to Poehler and the creative efforts of Office mastermind Greg Daniels and Mike Schur (Mose!).

She asks Amy some questions about the show. Here's the relevant-to-Rashida ones...

How's it having Rashida Jones (Ann) as your friend on the show?
I'm excited about the idea of us, because you don't see it as much in television, the idea of this female friendship. I think Leslie gets really excited that she's got this new friend, and Rashida plays a very attractive nurse. Leslie is just really excited to be around her, much like when I'm around Rashida. There's some comedy in how much Leslie wants to be friends with her. It's a little too fast.

It's a little bit of a girl crush?
It is a little bit of a girl crush, and she goes a little too fast. In the pilot, we meet on the second day; we're not best friends but I think we're really close, but Leslie's just moving way too fast.

I thought they were already filming the pilot at that playground a couple weeks ago? And lol at Kristin's "sneak peeks" being the promos already out.

TV: Parks & Rec Promo #2, casting news

Rashida has a split-second appearance walking with Amy in the 2nd promo for Parks and Recreation.

"...so I put in speed bumps"

Clip via Official Site (NBC)

A couple more cast members for the pilot have also been revealed (minor spoilers)
------------------------
Rounding out the cast of NBC's highly anticipated Amy Poehler sitcom, Parks and Recreation, is Paul Schneider, sources tell me exclusively. Named one of Variety's "Ten Actors to Watch" in 2007, Schneider -- whom you may remember as Gus in Lars and the Real Girl or as Rachel McAdams' dopey ex Brad in The Family Stone -- will play Mark, a co-worker of Poehler's character, Leslie Knope. The two had a one night stand at some point, and though she's clearly still into him, he's got his eye on Rashida Jones' character, Ann (whose live-in boyfriend will be played by Chris Pratt).

Insiders also tell me that actor Nick Offerman has won the role of Ron, the employees' Parks and Rec superior.

TV: Parks and Recreation casting news

Chris Pratt has been cast as Rashida's on-screen boyfriend in Parks and Recreation.
-------------------------------------------

Pratt’s latest gig will have him portraying an unemployed musician who somehow still manages to be lucky enough to have Rashida Jones as a girlfriend, or at least the character she plays.

-------------------------------------------

Cute!
His credits include the movies Bride Wars, Wanted and Strangers with Candy and TV's Everwood and The O.C.
