The magazine came to life last night at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, where editor Graydon Carter and Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey hosted a preview party for “Vanity Fair Portraits: Photographs 1913–2008,” an exhibition of vintage prints and contemporary images shot by photographers from Edward Steichen and Cecil Beaton to Helmut Newton, Herb Ritts, and, of course, Leibovitz.
